Professional Bio

C. K. Noble earned her Ph.D. at the University College of London, U.K. and she received the award of two PhDs. One is in the area of International Management and the other in the area of Societies, Economics and Organizations. Although these areas are related, the academic fields claim very different literatures and methodologies.

After a remarkable international career in the corporate and academic world, Professor Noble became an independent scholar affiliated with Harvard University where she is alumna.

She held international visiting teaching appointments in Germany, Austria and Finland (post-doctorate) and in other European countries. After 2013, she also taught in China (online) and held a research fellowship in Brazil.

At the present time, Professor Noble meets scholars in London and occasionally she is in Lisbon. She is also a citizen of Canada (Ottawa).
Although, she keeps her legal residency in Massachusetts, USA, she is not traveling to the US. Instead scholars and friends travel to meet her in Europe or work with her online.

Her story with the US begins in 2007, when she presented her research at a conference held by Cambridge University in the U.K. She impressed her colleagues in the U.S. and they invited her for an academic job.
From 2008 to 2012, she did the traditional fast tenure-track promotion and served as tenured Associate Professor of Strategic Human Resources Management and Organizational Behavior in New Haven, Connecticut. However, by the end of 2013, the faculty job in Connecticut, no longer offered career authenticity. The university where Professor Noble worked changed radically the administration board and the new faculty hired did not meet the expected academic standards. Professor Noble decided to leave this job to continue her career as an independent scholar.
After leaving her tenure position, she took several jobs and in spite of the difficulties anyone has to continue an academic career in these circumstances, she rebuild herself in global economic studies. Professor Noble successfully published the edited book entitled “International Careers and Academia” without any research grant or academic job. She did it for the sake of the progress of academia and humanity. The world of academia means a lot of non paid work, dedication and tenacity.

Those true scientists are not privileged people and have many untold stories full of personal sacrifices. Some had to work in low skilled routine jobs to put food on their tables while writing and publishing their scientific work.”

Currently, she is writing about ethics, strategic decision-making and power. It includes discussions of economic inequality and the impact of technology. She is also designing new content for online courses which will be available at Iversity and Palgrave publishers.
